Features - Refining

Refining equipment is a method of upgrading your equipment without having to replace it. In every major city, The Elder has the ability to "Refine Equipment" for you. The only required items to refine a piece of equipment are Mirage Celestones. You will need 2 stones for weapons and 1 stone for armor. As your equipment levels up, it will gain a specific effect depending on the type of equipment. For example, if you have a Robe with level 1 refinement and gained a +13 to health then a level 2 refinement would yield 13*2 = +26 HP. For more information, refer to the Refining Bonuses chart below.

The higher the upgrade, the more difficult it becomes. Starting from level 1, your success is not guaranteed. If you fail an upgrade, your item returns to level 0 unless you use a special item. Read the Refining Materials section below for more information about these special items.

Refining specific equipment has various effects:

Normal Weapons - Physical Attack Upgrade

Magic Instruments - Magic Attack Upgrade

Physical Attack Rings - Physical Defense Upgrade

Magic Attack Rings - Magic Defense Upgrade

Physical Defense Ornaments - Physical Defense Upgrade

Magic Defense Ornaments - Magic Defense Upgrade

Evasion Improvement Ornaments - Evasion Upgrade

Robes - Maximum HP Increase

Armor - Maximum HP Increase

Refining Bonuses

The higher the refining level of the equipment, the better the bonus. The improvement is based on the specific effect amplified by the items current refinement level. The levels are shown below:

Refining Materials

Increase your success rate but will also make sure that the equipment's refining level never loses more than 1 level of refinement upon failure.
Tienkang Stones and Tisha Stones can be purchased from the Boutique. In addition to these stones, Dragon Orbs can also assist you in refining.
Currently there are 5 levels in the boutique shop and the rest must be crafted from the Jewelcrafter. The level of the Orb will tell you what levels it can affect.
So for example a level 1 Dragon Orb will guarantee a 100% success rate for a level 1 refinement attempt.
To start refining an item simply go to an Elder and select "Refine Equipment". Simply drag a weapon or piece of armor into the first box available.
As you can see in the screenshot, this is a weapon so it only requires 2 Mirage Celestones. You can put special items into the "Special Materials" slot to increase your chances of success or minimize the damage on a failed attempt.
At the bottom of the window, a message will appear to inform you of the success or failure of your upgrade.
